This is what Gerda had to say after the first retreat

God in his graciousness really did meet me at this Encounter retreat.  How amazing to experience God’s complete forgiveness and the complete freedom from all of life’s previous experiences.  When I was standing at the rugged cross, having communion and worshipping Him, I had such a sense of His love and peace come over me.  It came over me in waves and waves and I felt myself yielding to him completely and resting in Him.  I have never before experienced such a sense of peace and I know that my longing now is for an even closer walk with the Lord of my life.  This retreat is an experience that every Christ follower would benefit from whether you have known Christ for a short time or you are seasoned as a believer.
